"We’re happy with Sapiensdev’s level of performance."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the software development manager at a multilevel marketing international firm.
What challenge were you trying to address with Sapiensdev?
We needed staff augmentation services.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Sapiensdev augments our three business unit teams. They use the Microsoft technology stack, Azure, C#, and AngularJS.
What is the team composition?
We work with four teammates.
How did you come to work with Sapiensdev?
Our previous director had a relationship with them in his previous position. When he came to work with us, he brought Sapiensdev in, and I started managing the relationship with them when he left.
What is the status of this engagement?
I’ve been working with them for about two years now.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Overall, we’re happy with Sapiensdev’s level of performance.
How did Sapiensdev perform from a project management standpoint?
Some of their teammates communicate better in English than others. English isn’t their native language in most cases, but they’ve mastered it quite well. That in no way affects their overall performance because once they understand the task at hand, then the job gets done.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Sapiensdev works alongside our teams, and they’re doing well.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, nothing jumps to mind right away. There’s always room for improvement, but the overall relationship has been good. When I talk to a person about their individual improvements, there’s usually no problem and they respond quickly.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the AVP of DevOps for a shoe retailer. My responsibility is managing everything on the application side, all the customer-facing applications, network, hardware as well as development integration and testing.
What challenge were you trying to address with Sapiensdev.com?
We needed staff augmentation so we hired their team.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I wanted to hire locally in Latin American countries in Central and South America, where we predominantly do business. They were very quick in finding the right candidates and they were able to get me the right skills that we were looking for.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked with four people.
How did you come to work with Sapiensdev.com?
I had asked a few vendors to provide me with resumes of people with certain skills. Those vendors were not able to get me the right skills. Even if they had the right skills, they were not available, so we decided to go with Sapiensdev.com.
How much have you invested in them?
We have spent between $50,000–$100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working with them in September 2019, and we are still working with them.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The project is progressing as per the plan. One of the projects that we started working on is live and we launched a website in the US, so that’s good.
How did Sapiensdev.com perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve been meeting our expectations. They’re dedicated and the communication has been good between our teams — I don’t need to follow up with them.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re a good partner and we can rely on them — they’ve been really supportive during COVID-19. During the COVID-19 time, we requested something that was in the contract, but this was an unprecedented situation and we needed some flexibility in terms of payment and other things, and they were flexible.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there’s nothing that I can think of.

Staff Augmentation for Enterprise Software Solutions Firm
"It’s easy to work with them, and they’re very affordable."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the program manager and partner of a digital solutions company. We primarily do e-commerce implementations.
What challenge were you trying to address with Sapiensdev.com?
We had them for staff augmentation services. Resources in the U.S. were becoming more expensive, and there was a limited talent pool in our area. We decided to choose a nearshoring company.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We work primarily with .NET technologies to include SharePoint and Kentico. Sapiensdev.com provides us with all of our lead resources within those areas of expertise.
What is the team composition?
We’re currently working with four people on the SharePoint project, and we have one additional developer that does ad hoc .NET development.
We rely on Sapiensdev.com for all of our primary resources. They have provided help in the past on several eCommerce implementations and SharePoint migrations, where they were the entire team from discovery, planning through implementation. They also provide us with ad-hoc development resources to assist our clients with their diverse and dynamic requirements.
How did you come to work with Sapiendevs.com?
We stumbled across them when while working with a competitor. One of the developers that we were working with left to go to Sapiensdev.com. We weren’t very happy with that previous vendor, so we decided to move with that resource.
How much have you invested with them?
We spend several hundred thousand dollars each year.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working together in 2013, and the engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The quality of work is excellent – it’s one par with the work we get from our in-house team. Our clients are happy with the work as well. They’re very flexible with us. We don’t have strict contracts that prevent us from moving developers onto different projects. It’s easy to work with them, and they’re very affordable.
How did Sapiendevs.com perform from a project management standpoint?
Typically, we have in-house project managers that run the team. However, for our larger implementations, they provide their own project manager on the team, keeping our client goals and objectives aligned with the development team's deliverables. They provide lots of information and communicate clearly, which makes the project run smoothly.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They have relatively low staff turnover. Even when there are changes in the team, the transition is very seamless. We worked with them on a two-year-long project, and we never had to roll back, and there were no bugs.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No.
